In Portugal, Golf will always find a Pousada!

From the North to the South of the country, golf lovers can play at courses close to the Pousadas, meaning that they can combine their chosen sport with the possibility of comfortable accommodation in magnificent Historic, Historic Design, Nature or Charm buildings, enjoying the cuisine and wines of each region.

Alcácer do Sal - Crato - Marvão

Algarve
Estói - Sagres - São Brás de Alportel

Here´s some suggestions for 3 nights and 4 days route packages.

Golf in the North route

In the north, we suggest you visit Oporto. You may have dinner and stay overnight at Pousada do Porto, Palácio do Freixo and the next day you may go to Oporto Golf, in Espinho, a 18 holes golf court. This links is one of the most ancient in Europe and came into existence in 1890 by the hands of a group of British golf players involved in Port Wine business.

The next day, we suggest you leave Oporto to get to know one the most beautiful and challenging golf courses in Portugal: the Ponte de Lima golf course; it is so harmonious and seductive that it is a real inspiration for the lovers of this sport. Finish your day at the Pousada de Viana do Castelo, where you may have “Rojões à Moda do Minho” (stewed pork) for dinner while enjoying an unforgettable view over Monte de Santa Luzia. After a deserved rest, go south to the Estela Golf Club, a real links located in a magnificent zone along the coast. There are 18 holes facing the sea!

Golf in the Center route

Our suggestion is that you first stop at the famous suckling pigs at Mealhada and then to stay overnight at the Pousada de Condeixa-a-Nova, and on the next day go up to Montebelo course, designed by Mark Stilwell and Malcolm Kenyon. On the second night, have dinner and sleep at the Pousada de Viseu, and the next day, continue on to find the fantastic 27 holes in Montebelo and then return to Viseu for the last night.

On the last day, we suggest you take a pleasant trip to Cúria to see the fantastic course that is part of the thermal resort with the same name, the Cúria Golf Course, with 9 holes. It is a competitive course for any level of player.

Golf in Lisbon route

In the region of Lisbon we suggest you stay the first night at Pousada de Palmela, to play, the next day, at the Quinta do Perú Golf Course, from where you can go to Pousada de Setúbal to have lunch. The day will end with a dinner at Cozinha Velha Restaurant at Queluz, with accommodation at Pousada D. Maria I. For the two next days go and get to know two fantastic golf courses just 15 minutes away: the Lisbon Sports Club, a tricky course surrounded by nature where challenge is a good result and the Belas Clube de Campo, a course of international category designed by William (Rocky) Roquemore.

Golf in Algarve route

Algarve is, without doubt, the great golf destination in Portugal, and so we give you two suggestions:

One of them staying at the new Pousada de Estói near Faro, where you can play in some of the best golf courses in our country, as Quinta da Ria, at the Natural Park of Ria Formosa, the golf course of Quinta do Lago Norte, where you are always challenged, with great lakes and par 4 being usually dog legs; if you prefer the English style we suggest the Old Course in Vilamouraor the Vila Sol.

In the west Algarve we suggest you take a three night stay at the Pousada de Sagres with its sumptuous view over the sea. Play at the famous Parque da Floresta golf course, designed by the famous Spanish architect Pepe Gancedo, who also designed the well¬known course of Torrequebrada, in Spain, and during the next few days explore the courses at Carvoeiro Golf, Vale da Pinta, an extraordinary course inside an olive grove (some of the trees have been there for more than 1500 years), this gives the player a great beautiful show. The Gramacho court is relatively short and it is a good choice for those who want to imagine being at the double greens in St. Andrews.
